Love it or hate it, from the time the track “Sandstorm” hit the airwaves, it took the world by storm and became an instant addition to the EDM lexicon set to stay.  The story behind the hit that staked its territory in dance music history begins with Finnish producer and DJ Ville Virtanen, better known by his working name of Darude.  While still in high school, Virtanen took his first steps into what would eventually lead to a career as a world-famous DJ and producer.  The name “Darude” came about one fateful evening when he repeatedly played Swedish sensation Leila K’s “Rude Boy” numerous times at a pre-party.  Dubbed “Rude Boy” subsequently by friends, “Darude” would be the ultimate evolution of the nickname that stayed.
