Hollywood Haunting

While All Hallows’ Eve may be filled with costumed revelers in all manner of disguises assuming roles that cover the spectrum of imagination’s rainbow, there is one thing that is hard to imitate—the essence that is Hollywood.  For that, you’d likely need an assortment of glitz-edged, glam-laced and insouciantly youthful revelers ready to party-down at the drop of a hat.  And the watering hole where this set of young and dangerous can be found disporting themselves in?  Try the historic Hotel Roosevelt in the heart of Hollywood and home to the very first Academy Awards.

Built in the Roaring Twenties and named after one of America’s most robust presidents (that’s Theodore Roosevelt for all you U.S. History 101 narcoleptics), the historic Roosevelt Hotel feted the high-glamour Hollywood set and was a home away from home to the illustrious likes of Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift. The year 2005 oversaw a major renovation and the hotel’s nightclub, Teddy’s, has drawn the rising young talent of Hollywood to its doors like hummingbirds to nectar since.

Already famed for being one of Hollywood’s definitive nightlife hotspots, evenings at the Roosevelt are events unto themselves and the annual Halloween bash is no exception.  Hosted by Marilyn Manson last year, the see and be seen crowd came out in droves, decked out in all their finest costumed gear to get their spine-chills on in the ghoulish playgrounds of the haunted hotel.  This year will be no different.  With the exception of Manson hosting, talent this year will feature the heady grooves of Z Trip, Beachers Madhouse, The EC Twins, Them Jeans, and Mei Lwun.  If you like a hard dose of Hollywood with your Halloween high jinks, look no further than Hotel Roosevelt this October 31st.
