LUKE BASCOM & THE END TIMES

Backed by his band the End Times, Luke Bascom is a songwriter based in Des Moines. The characters in his stories are caught between seasons of grief, love, and self-care. Each and every one of them grapples with their respective American nightmare. Some catch their breath above the choppy waters, others hold on for dear life as they sink to rock bottom.

These songs are brought to life by the End Times. Chris Gallant on fiddle, Stone Mills on bass, and Will Tarbox on drums. Luke Bascom rounds out the group on guitar/vocals.

Genre references - post-punk, alt-country, rock

BELLYARD
Former Why Make Clocks bandmates Dan Hutchison, Boonie and Will Tarbox resumed their prior collaborative efforts at the beginning of 2020 right before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Having been 14 years since the trio last took the stage together after multiple tours around the country and multiple LPs. The partnership quickly picked up where it left off and new music emerged. Music that now favored a more lyrically optimistic and musically collaborative experimentalism.

Taking the time to make a concerted effort to hone and craft these tunes during a pandemic was sometimes slow, but the results have been well worth it.

The trio has remained static since inception, with various musicians contributing along the way. Most currently, Jason Parrish has been added, rounding out the now quartet on guitar.

GHOSTMIST

ghOstMiSt is a Balinese experimental duo that uses reflexive improvisation as a way to interrogate cultural contradiction and reclaim performance place. Dewa Ayu Eka Putri and I started this duo as a critique of traditional frames of value judgement.

By enacting performative inquiries of Balinese-ness we question spiritual and cosmological epistemologies of performance. It is important that we teach through community-based methods and engage in diverse participation in efforts to create works of art that promote creativity, while understanding historical privilege to address social and philosophical issues.
