Zakiyyah is an artist-activist who utilizes music and visual media to explore themes that centralize marginalized communities via her production company, Black and Bold Productions. As an actress and classically-trained singer who is well-versed in Opera, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and R&B, she employs her extremely versatile skill-set to reach a broad range of audiences and craft a sound that is uniquely her own--including her most well-known, "Hip-Hopera". She’s had the pleasure of bringing these sounds to numerous audiences from the House of Blues to the United Nations. Engaging in her passion for social justice, her recent Tedx Talk, “Being Good Is a Privilege” highlights the repercussions of overlooking class in our quest for DEI and social change. YAC MARVELOUS

Instagram

Whether it was the main attraction at Track & Field H.S. meets or turning heads on the collegiate level at Northern University (current record holder 500m); Yac Marvelous has never been shy about showcasing his talents on the big stage.

The South Bronx native started making beats in his second year of college at NU. "I remember my boy Jos had just copped a Triton keyboard...that night I tried to make boom bap, lofi, trap, house vibes whateveri was in to...I used all the stock sounds to make these crazy intros lol. Its wild when I realize all the genres I make all have the exact same start date.

Yac represents 1/3 of the Monstrous Trio of soundsmith known as CA$H ONL¥ (16Bitspit, Peter Perfect). Each with their own signature sound and stage presence.

"Anyone who actually knows me know I love nothing more than sharing my soundwaves in a room full of people who genuinely have good energy and a love for quality music. I tell people if you ever see my set; two things I guarante you won't forget.....my MASK and my Tag (Mar mar mar mar Marvelous Haaaaaaa) . I'm inspired by so many soundsmith when it comes to frequencies; but from that list only two inspire me visually (MF DOOM/Daft Punk). You can definitely hear their influence in my craft. I know it sounds wild but my #1 goal is to make the world dance. I know I want to do this for the rest of my life...every show just feels like I'm moving closer to that reality. I am truly fortunate to have found and partook in multiple passionate outlets. Life is meant to be lived; do what you love.
