HardSource La

####### ZEBO - CHICAGO #######
Hot Dog Records
Peering at the crowd from behind his thick-rimmed specs, head nodding like ametronome; his sound is one of confidence and controlled frenzy, as highlighted inNewcity Magazine, where he was honored in their annual Music 45 issue—alongside thelikes of Kanye West, Andrew Bird and Smashing Pumpkins—as one of the top 45musical artists in Chicago. This was just after being listed in URB Magazine’s “Next100” issue and recently voted “Best Local Dj 2010 and 2011” by the Chicago ReaderViewer Poll. More recently he has been selected to perform on a main stage atLollapalooza which will be his second time playing the legendary music festival!“…Zebo packs a cut-up crateful of styles, from hip-hop and B-more to French, Electro,Disco and even a nasty snippet of a techno track or throwback freestyle gem. While thismaximal approach might be increasingly common among DJs who cater to the ADD-riddled mash-up club casualties, Zebo stays head and shoulders above the rest forknowing that just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Skills can be honed, buttaste can’t be taught…”Although house and jungle dominated his early turntable diet, Zebo is a polygamouslover of music, and he hustled to find any opportunity to play, be it raves, loft parties, weddings, corporate parties, in-store events and fashion shows. He is also an instructor at Columbia College teaching both a Club Dj part 1 class as well as an advanced part 2.Outside of which he runs the Chicago-based, Hot Dog Records with partner MarcoMorales. A label that focuses on releasing any style of music and artists that representThe Windy City.It is this genuine love of music paired with incredible deck acumen that propels DJ Zebobeyond the reach of all the other DJs trying to out-reference, out-cred and out-mix eachother, their varied selections resembling 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound laptop. Zebo’snot simply wearing his musical heart on his sleeve—as the WAV file tattooed on his ever-moving forearm might seem to indicate—but actually spinning dance floor gold withboth his technical abilities and intuition in reading the crowd, a modern day Serato-equipped Rumpelstiltskin.Yet for all his vaunted versatility, no matter what direction his sets head, Zebo’s initiallove of jungle seems to subconsciously permeate his music at peak hour, with bombasticbasslines rolling on and on underneath familiar hooks and clever samples. Pitched-up,pitched-down, scratched-up and around, Zebo’s a populist at heart, finding the redeemingvalues in both subterranean cool and overt pop—it’s a delicate tightrope to walk, but thisDJ has the balance to pull it off

######## Robert Armani (Chicago, IL) #######
Traxxmen / ACV
Born on Chicago's south-side in 1970, Robert Armani has an expansive Musical career that started at the age of fourteen. He began with Dj-ing parties and remixing music and by the age of eighteen as already producing his own music, hard acid techno. In his cellar Robert started throwing some phenomenal parties that became very popular in his neighborhood. These parties gave him a reputation in the house scene and helped him to continue growing. Some of the diehard visitors of Robert's BASEMENT parties were inspired and influenced by him. Some of which became DJs themselves including DJ RUSH. Others went on to become Rap stars like R Kelly.

Robert was close to giving up Dj-ing and producing music to become a police officer. This all changed with a trip to Italy to dj at a party. It was at that time he realized his true passion, music. In Italy is actually where he got the name Robert "Armani". His female fans named him Armani because of the designer clothes he always wore.

Robert's Influences include ARMANDO (RIP), Mike Dunn and Frankie Knuckles. He sees his music sticking with old styles and doing "whatever comes to mind". Producing with labels including Dance Mania, Pushpac, Djax-Up Beats, AVC, BML, High Octane and many more. Armani has captured the ears of fans and promotors all over the world. He has played at many international parties from Chicago to Japan giving people the opportunity to rock to his hard acid techno.
