Art and Democracy by BOGUMER
Art is not democracy. I can't imagine Picasso asking for a vote to choose the colours of his paintings or Dalí making a survey in Cadaqués to choose his works theme.
The production of a show is not a democratic act. The director imposes his criteria and ideas for the interpreters to execute them. In this occasion, BOGUMER has not been different.
But all democracies must allow freedom of art, a place for the representation of “what cannot be represented". That is the reason why BOGUMER gives the voice to the people. As an act of democracy and rebellion. People revealing against their greatest dictator: God. And they decide to judge, condemn and execute him. People beginning to write their own history on a blank piece of paper. Would all those individuals be capable of not falling into new and humane dictatorships?
