Rebel Kicks are an indie pop/rock band based out of New York City. Led by brothers, Anthony and Steven Babino, their sound fuses elements of rock, pop, & electronica, along with disarmingly personal, yet universal lyrics, anchored by the unique, close harmonic blend of the brothers' voices. With songs that have been described as "imaginative and dynamic", Rebel Kicks' music is at once inventive, "energizing, melodic and vibrant."
Consummate performers, the band has a reputation for their electrifying, energetic live shows, evidenced on their recent live EP, "Whiskey & Sinatra (Live in NYC)". “We want people to leave our live shows not only excited by our music, but also feeling energized, taking away good vibes from the experience.”
Rebel Kicks have had multiple songs featured on MTV, including the show "Teen Mom: OG", as well as a song placement on the season 10 finale of the hit show, "Shameless", on Showtime. In November 2019, the music video for their original song, 'Let It Out', which combines elements of interpretive dance with ASL, was featured in the Big Apple Film Festival, Gorilla River Music Video Festival, and was a semi-finalist for the Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival.
They released their first album, "A Portrait of Man: Part I" in August 2020, collaborating with some of the top music industry songwriters and producers, including Abe Dertner (Walk The Moon, MAX), Jeff Blue (Macy Gray, Hoobastank, Korn, Linkin Park), Jason Pennock (2pac, Polyenso, The Pussycat Dolls), Russ DeSalvo (Lou Reed, Celine Dion, Lionel Richie), and Jimmy Greco (Paramore, Santana). Their newest song, "Floating", was released in March 2021, and was written and recorded in quarantine during 2020. "It's an up-beat reflection on the power of turning inward, and quieting the noise through meditation. Instead of dwelling on the negative during these dark times, we wanted to focus our energy on conveying a cathartic, positive message, and we hope this song does just that."
