Connecticut-born, Austin launched, and Brooklyn-based soul singer/songwriter, draws influence from the great Lianne La Havas, Nai Palm, Amy Winehouse, Linda Ronstadt, and Billie Holiday. She has crafted a rich, deep sound that elicits the nostalgia for neo-soul and Jazz greats past.
Rachel always had an interest in music. While attending school, she began performing cover songs on YouTube, and participating in after school choir ensembles at her middle and high school. She formed several local bands and began expanding her professional music knowledge by working at Sony Music’s Threadshop as well as Brand Partnerships at Epic.
In 2014, she decided to pursue her musical calling and move to Austin, Texas. While attending University, she worked as an A&R and Content Creator for On Vinyl Media, and became a member of an elite Ensemble group at the Butler School. Rachel found her voice in soul, neo-soul, and R&B music, and she formed her own band, performing covers by Lianne La Havas, Hiatus Kaiyote, Amy Winehouse, and Billie Holiday. She performed at SXSW parties, and other iconic Austin venues.
In 2018, she moved back to the east coast and settled into Brooklyn, New York, where she took a position at TuneCore. Rachel would spend her off-hours songwriting and producing, and, In February 2020, committed full time to her music career. Despite COVID and quarantine, she completed and independently released her debut EP, 100/10/1, along with two music videos, and was welcomed into the New York Songwriter’s Circle. Rachel just released her first single of 2021, “Oriole”, and will be releasing additional singles in the upcoming year.
