Goodd n' Friends, a jazz-adjacent nightmare

Mark Goodden is a pianist, composer, and producer with experience performing musical styles ranging from: jazz, hip hop, electronica, pop, and rock. Graduating this fall with a B.A. in jazz piano performance - spending much time learning from Professors Johannes Wallmann, Les Thimmig, and Peter Dominguez at UW Madison - Mark looks forward to sharing the sounds he’s been developing over the past few years, and to dive deeper into his projects: CoMingle, Maestranza, and most recently Lamphouse Blue.
An experimental music collective exploring an eclectic but approachable sound, CoMingle is influenced by music commonly described as: pop, hip hop, progressive rock, and neo-soul. Started by Luna Pluer (vocalist) and Mark Goodden (keyboards) composing and performing songs together in high school, CoMingle has since grown with Zach Ramirez (saxophones/rap), Will Bailey (drums, engineer), Jordan Kowalski (percussion), Nathan Relles (guitar), and Dave Wyatt (bass). They see music as a living, fluid force - no song is set in stone, but rather they seek to feel the space and be open to how the music will sound best in each unique performance.
Featuring a lineup with members from CoMingle, Railhopper, and the Lakewaves Trio, Maestranza is an unconventional quintet that experiments with infusing rock, metal, and funk into a traditional jazz combo format. Bandleader Nathan “Kid Twist” Relles (guitar) brought together Zach Ramirez (saxophones/rap), Mark Goodden (keyboards), Aaron Metz (bass), and Will Bailey (drums) to bring Maestranza’s sound to the stage.
