SHARON BADAL is vice president of filmmaker relations and shortsprogramming for Tribeca. She has been with the festival since its inception in2001 and has produced special projects for Tribeca since 1999.
Her first job at age 14 as an usher in her father’s suburban movietheatre was where she fell in love with “the movies.” Since that rather inauspiciousstart she has produced numerous live-events, worked in distribution andmarketing for three major studios and, since 1994, has been on the faculty atNew York University Tisch School of the Arts Kanbar Institute of Film andTelevision. She teaches NYU’s “Producing in London” summer study abroad programand was integral in creating the producing minor. She is the author of“Swimming Upstream – A Lifesaving Guide to Short Film Distribution,” publishedby Focal Press. She has been a panelist/juror at numerous festivals and forindustry organizations and works on many branded content initiatives withTribeca Studios.
Sharon received her B.F.A in film & television production andher M.A. in cinema studies and business both from NYU.
A festival strategist/publicist with morethan 25 years experience, KATHLEEN McINNIS employs long-range strategicplanning and targeted publicity to help emerging world-cinema filmmakerscultivate new audiences and launch careers from the global film festivalcircuit platform.
Under her company banner See-Through Films,Kathleen and her team design premiere publicity campaigns to ensure the films,and filmmakers, reach their goals.
Previously Director of Programming at AspenShortsfest, International Short Cuts Programmer at Toronto Int'l Film Festivaland Festival Director at Palm Springs ShortsFest, Kathleen is currently theCurator of Seattle International Film Festival’s New Works-in-Progress Forumfor Documentary and Narrative Features.
Kathleen also has served as a festivalstrategist and project development mentor at BAL Labs (Buenos Aries Labs), HotDocs International Film Festival (Canada), Koszalin FilmFestival for Debut Filmmakers (Poland), CineMart (InternationalFilm Festival Rotterdam), Galway Film Fleadh (Ireland), and at BerlinaleTalents during the Berlin Film Festival. Kathleen has presentedkeynotes at Winterthur International ShortFilm Festival (Switzerland)and Kreativni Evropa-Media’s Intelligent Audience Design (Czech),and has been on been on festival juries at the Norwegian Short FilmFestival, Galway Film Fleadh, Seattle International Film Festival, WinterthurFilm Festival, SXSW, Indie Lisboa and Tel Aviv InternationalStudent Film Festival.
