Multi award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter and pianist Laila Biali has headlined festivals and venues spanning five continents from New York City's Carnegie Hall to Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts, and supported international icon Sting. In 2020, Laila was honoured for Excellence in Songwriting by SOCAN Music, following a 2019 JUNO win (Canada's GRAMMY) for her self-titled release. Additional accolades include winner of the Canadian Songwriting Competition (2018) and Canada’s National Jazz Awards, placing Laila among the most decorated Jazz artists in Canada. And while she continues to earn high honours in the Jazz world, Laila's signature sound transcends genre as she "masterfully mixes jazz and pop, bringing virtuosity and unpredictability to songs that are concise and catchy" (Washington Post). Her most recent release, Out of Dust, features several GRAMMY winners and was included on prestigious Best Albums lists from DownBeat Magazine to JazzFM91. Out of Dust also garnered rave reviews around the globe and Laila's fourth JUNO nomination.
