Joy Askew came to NYC from England in the early ’80’s and had an embellished past playing in the bands of musical icons such as Peter Gabriel, Laurie Anderson and Joe Jackson. Now, after label and indie releases and collaboration with publishers including Quincy Jones, as a re-invented musical poet, she is about to release her 10th solo album, “Everything Is Different.”
This new collection was recorded during Covid’s first two years, with songs from the innocence of before the pandemic, then from the change that had set in fast and deep during it.
