Event Details

The final course of VERA’s Live Sound series, this three-hour workshop includes practice mixing a live band in a low pressure environment, starting with the basics of soundcheck and ending with a full blown mix. Subject matter will include: Setting up a front of house mix on an M32 board, preamps, EQ settings, mixing styles for different genres, sound pressure levels, outboard gear techniques and lots of critical listening to ensure that show attendees, artists, and staff have a great experience at the show.

Pre-requisites: You must complete both Small PA Mixing (LS 201) and Mixing for Monitors (LS 202) before signing up for this class.

This class is a prerequisite for shadowing and ultimately becoming the Lead Sound Engineer at Vera Project shows. Each Live Sound class unlocks new audio engineering volunteer shifts at Vera and eventually paid opportunities in and outside of the venue. Become a volunteer at Vera to access other audio-related educational programs such as tours, field trips, and internships.
