Event Details

Challenge your senses and ignite your taste buds with our debut Dinner in the Dark fundraiser at 5 Points Music Sanctuary. Guests will be served a full 4 course meal catered by Pumpernickel Pickle, complete with wine pairings, all while being BLINDFOLDED. This unique tasting environment not only heightens your sense of taste, but brings you to a new level of appreciation of society-constructed issues for the blind. Each table will have a guide and music will performed by Zoë Nutt and Dennis Helm.

Zoë Nutt is a Nashville-based artist hailing from East Tennessee. From her bio:

"Although I didn’t grow up knowing what I wanted to be, I was constantly drawing, writing poems, starting my day from the bed straight to the piano, always creating. I moved from Knoxville, TN to Nashville to study classical vocal performance at Belmont University. Not truly knowing where I would fit within the music world, I eventually decided to write my first songs and audition for Belmont’s songwriting major. Shortly after being accepted into the program I woke up one day with a sudden and massive hearing loss. I grew up deaf in one ear, but this new loss was now affecting my only working ear. Since that moment I have progressively been loosing my hearing and have been advised I will likely go completely deaf in the future. Losing my hearing has been a difficult path, but has never diverted me from my musical career. Although my deafness is part of my everyday life, it defines neither me nor my music."

5 Points Music Foundation is recognized 501c3 whose mission is to pursue the power of sound through live events that support access to music therapy, hearing loss advocacy, and accessibility initiatives. Read our story here.
