Built To Spill with special guests The French Tips an ORUÃ
Built to Spill were one of the most popular indie rock acts of the '90s, finding the middle ground between post-modern, Pavement-style pop and the loose, spacious jamming of Neil Young. From the outset, the band was a vehicle for singer, songwriter, and guitarist Doug Martsch, whose rough-edged soloing heroics earned the band's reputation as an exciting and unpredictable live act. In the studio, Martsch's songwriting quickly matured; his ability to crank out complicated, emotionally wracked songs led to a contract with Warner Bros. and a string of albums including alt-rock classics like 1997's Perfect from Now On and 1999's Keep It Like a Secret. The group continued to deliver decades on from their beginnings: Untethered Moon, released in 2015, sounds remarkably similar to their work from 20 years earlier.
