Background on The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS):
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis. And most recently the first-ever immunotherapy approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration(FDA) for a new cutting-edge gene therapy that reprograms a patient’s immune system to find and kill cancer cells. LLS is really are changing the face of blood cancer! www.lls.org
The OCWineFest – taking place Saturday Nov. 4 and Sunday Nov. 5
The OCWineFest is produced by the same team that has produced the LAWineFest, which just completed its 12th successful year. This popular event blazed a trail in L.A. to bring wine and people together in a casual setting intended to welcome all. Now a local institution, we’re known to reliably deliver a relaxed event that balances fun, exploration and education. Our goal is to help people explore their taste in a festive environment. Our unofficial motto: Drink what you like; Like what you drink!
This year we are honored to begin a new collaboration with A Stones Throw Winery in presenting the OCWineFest in San Juan Capistrano. A Stones Throw Winery was originally founded in 2002 out of Trabuco Canyon and operated as a small boutique winery called Hamilton Oaks Vineyard and Winery Inc. In 2012 the winery opened a second tasting room as Hamilton Oaks San Juan in the historic Swanner House in San Juan Capistrano, on the 3-acre property.
With dozens of wineries, craft breweries, lifestyle exhibitors, gourmet food trucks, live music and more, the OCWineFest will offer a unique day of exploration among the orange groves of A Stones Throw Winery. For more information on the OCWineFest on November 4 and 5, visit http://ocwinefest.com/
