About 81355:

81355 (pronounced “bless”) is a voltronized collaboration between three of Indianapolis music scene’s elder statesmen; Sirius Blvck, Oreo Jones, and David “Moose” Adamson. While the three have worked together in the past, contributing to one another’s projects as cameos and guest production, this is the first instance in which they have bonded together from conception to execution. The result is the stunning and idiosyncratic debut album under the 81355 moniker, This Time I’ll Be of Use.

These lucid wanderings amongst the street fires, sound like a cross between ghostly Jean-Michel Jarre swirling bossa nova steeped hip-hop beats with acrobatic and surrealist word-play delivered with sharp resolve. While dream-like in its metaphors and abstraction, it doesn’t betray or surrender a present awareness and protest. When asked about the recording process they described it as intuitive, that they each were coming from a synchronistic space, reflecting on Black struggle in the pandemic-ridden and democracy faltering landscape of 2020.

As suggested in the title, they each see themselves entering a new chapter, and claiming a responsibility to bear witness, drawing inspiration from the likes of dancing biting poetic commentary of the late Naptown residents, Etheridge Knight and Kurt Vonnegut. These three musical vagabonds have met up to build a new world, finding even themselves surprised with the results, a collision of styles, moments of time, and cadences, but collaborative output is a sonic and lyrical tapestry rich with vision and style.

Simultaneously mystical and stark, dancing between different and better futures, alternative realities, yet never leaving this one, this travel through temporal realities and parallel universes is matched by the syncopation of both vocal and musical delivery that plays with rhythm, rhyme, melody and meter.

About Mike Adams at His Honest Weight:

Mike Adams At His Honest Weight is the flagship recording project of Mike Adams (duh). Musician, writer, TV host, parent, humorist, friend, nimble agitator, these are all adjectives that describe Mike Adams, the man. But, in another realm, he's a complex mixture of Star-stuff, somehow equally at home whether he's at home, or performing for a captivated drooling audience.

For the most part, these songs are written and recorded by Mike, alone, in his room before they're handed off to friend and trusted confidant, Adam Jessup, for further production and polishing-off. I suppose Mike sees the arranging and writing process as an escape fantasy into his own mind where he's safe and in control. Of course, he's wrong about that. What he's really doing is flipping himself inside out; internalizing his experience and exposing his veiled vulnerability in a grotesque public evolutionary process for the whole world to see. Obviously. But, he's a sensitive guy, so if you don't tell him, neither will we.

About 4200Kory:

Listen | Watch Video

"I make music & represent my hometown" is all Kory has in his Instagram bio.

Short and sweet as that is, it may actually be the best way to sum up all that 4200Kory is up to these days. Born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, the 22 year old has quickly formed himself into what many consider a "Hometown Hero". A heavy title for such a young talent but it only makes sense, all things considered. With his initial release of "Rest Easy" (an EP he dedicated to his departed family & friends) in early 2021, he showed a level of storytelling & emotional depth that was quickly compared to the likes of Meek Mill & Dave East. With no hesitation he followed up that project with his debut album "Hold On 4 Dear Life" (a 14-track capsule painting a picture of what could only be deemed as a glimpse into his own past). Showcasing lyrical prowess, versatility in production and very Kendrick Lamar/Lupe Fiasco influenced flares.

As of recent "42K" has released two summer EP's (4200Summers and 4200Summers 2) alongside a handful of singles that have further cemented him as an artist worth keeping our eyes on. While painting the story of his life out onto records, he is consistent with where he's from and why that's so paramount to his tale. With all of the amazing things he has put out thus far, we can only guess with excitement as to what's next.
