Jesus Jones formed in London in 1988 - and their impact was almost immediate . Debut single "Info Freako", in January 1989 was an instant success - and served as a blueprint for their sound: an exhilarating blend of rock music with samples and influences from house, hip-hop and beyond. By the time of their second album, "doubt" (1991), the world was theirs: sold-out tours of the US, Japan, Australia and beyond. MTV bestowed an award on them for "Best New Artist" for "Right Here Right Now", and that single would go on to be a genuine phenomenon in the States - reaching number one and becoming a perennial feature on US radio. The single helped propel sales of "doubt" to dizzying heights, too - the album would go on to sell more than two million copies worldwide. But they were more than just one mega-hit: in total, the band saw fourteen of their singles reach the UK charts, with eight going Top 40.

Jesus Jones continue to write and record - their last album, "Passages", in 2018, was a real return to form. The band maintains a touring schedule that has seen them play up and down the UK, as well as Australia, Japan, the US, and Canada. Amazingly, after almost thirty-five years, their line-up is exactly the same as it was when they formed - though with bassist Alan Doughty now living in the US, the band are augmented for Uk gigs by Gary Thatcher (ex-beekeepers).
