Blurring the lines between electronic and hip-hop with Latin influences, internationally-recognized Mexican American producer act Boombox Cartel has risen the ranks as an unparalleled force in the world of dance music. 

The Boombox Cartel name spread quickly in 2015 after Jack Ü played “B2U” at Hard Fest and shortly after, every major artist was playing it live. Following the success of “B2U” came the smash single “Supernatural” with Quix and Anjulie, and in 2017 Boombox Cartel released his highly anticipated debut EP “Cartel”, featuring innovative tracks “Alamo” and “Jefe”, which set the bar high for Boombox’s next level artistry and creativity.

In 2019, Boombox Cartel embarked on his biggest headline bus tour yet; The Cell Tour. It featured a full stage production, synchronized visuals and sold out dates all across the US, from New York to Los Angeles, Austin, Minneapolis and more. He has toured the globe securing prime slots at major festivals including Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas and Mexico, Sunburn, Creamfields and many more. With his intention to bring his music and people from all backgrounds together in each performance, the artist’s built up accreditation in the dance music realm speaks for itself. 

Boombox Cartel continues to push musical boundaries in his genre-blending output. With collaborations and features ranging from Dillon Francis, DMX, MadeInTYO, NGHMTRE, Panama and more, it’s clear that there are no limits. Alongside releases on record labels such as Mad Decent, OWSLA, and Spinnin, he has also been featured in prominent publications like Billboard, Noisey, Complex, and DJ MAG. The world of Boombox Cartel stands on the precipice of global domination.

IMANU

Inspired and driven by the future of electronic music, its story-telling potential and ability to convey powerful emotions, IMANU is the brainchild of Rotterdam-based Jonathan Kievit. At the forefront of a new generation of producers, he rejects stuffy genre boundaries, rigid tempo expectations and DJ-friendly format formalities and just wants to create genuine emotional electronic music. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Established late 2019, the IMANU project follows an already impressive chapter in drum & bass. Breaking through at the age of just 16 with a highly distinctive and technical brutalist style, he made a remarkable impression in a very short space of time. However, this was only a hint at what was to come. Now in his early 20s, IMANU has already been responsible for releases on significant labels such as Deadbeats, UKF and VISION, he’s remixed the likes of Apashe, TOKiMONSTA and What So Not & Skrillex and already collaborated with fellow kindred, unclassifiable spirits like Noisia, KUČKA, Pham and josh pan. On June 17th, IMANU announced he will be releasing his debut album ‘UNFOLD’ on Deadbeats on September 16th, 2022. 

Each release joining more dots and weaving an indelible, emotional thread between every genre you can throw a pigeonhole at, IMANU is the culmination of everything that inspires Jonathan. Everything he’s achieved so far, everything he’s learnt and everything that moves him… But flipped in a much more personal and open-armed creative way that focuses purely on the future and where this music can be taken next…
