Eaters
Eaters (Bob Jones, Jonathan Schenke and Christopher Duffy) bring their microtonal drone (made with synths and a Glass Armonica hand-built by Christopher Duffy) to the stage for the first time since February 2020. Pitchfork says Eaters' textures are "beautiful: Grim and subdued but so rich you could raise tomatoes in them.” https://eatersdo.com
Sunk Heaven
Sunk Heaven is the solo project of Austin Sley Julian, who also performs in the contemporary no-wavish band Sediment Club, based out of New York City. Sunk Heaven is building and breaking instruments to construct a temporary outcry, sunk deep into a metallic disfigurement. sunkheaven.
Lia Mice
London-based artist and designer of large instruments Lia Mice returns to New York for one show only. Her live set, conjured with her self-designed Chaos Bells, vocal sampling and polyrhythmic beats, dances the line between outsider techno and experimental pop. Her album Sweat Like Caramel is out now on Objects Ltd. www.liamice.com
Dan Friel
Two decades into his solo work, Dan Friel (Upper Wilds, Parts & Labor) continues to push the boundaries of pop and noise, gleefully manipulating explosive drum machines, abrasive found sounds, and a child-sized keyboard and compounding them into clamorous anthems. His album Factoryland is out now on Thrill Jockey. https://danfriel.com/
Ken Butler
World renowned innovator of experimental musical instruments Ken Butler performs experimental improvisations with pedals, loopers and sculptural instruments he constructed from objects found on the streets of Brooklyn over the past 40 years, including the Guthman Musical Instrument Competition winning Sitar/Tabla made from a golf club. https://kenbutler.
