Join us on Saturday August 27 to celebrate the launch of Mimi Zhu’s debut book, Be Not Afraid of Love, supported by Playground Annex and sponsored by Depop.

Mimi Zhu is a queer Chinese-Australian artist and writer currently based in Brooklyn. Their work centers around themes of healing from trauma through art and writing, and exploring the intersections of love and fear. Be Not Afraid of Love is their first book, an achievement Mimi could not have accomplished without the love and support of their community. This night is a celebration of and outpouring of gratitude for that love, featuring special performances and artistic contributions from Mimi’s chosen family in Brooklyn.

The night will begin with a special reading of Be Not Afraid of Love by Mimi, followed by special drag performances by:

There will be cake, a photo booth, and limited copies of Be Not Afraid of Love for sale, in addition to special merch.
