About King Buffalo
Website | Facebook | Instagram | TwitterBandcamp

King Buffalo is the trio of vocalist/guitarist Sean McVay, bassist Dan Reynolds, and drummer Scott Donaldson. Since forming in 2013, the self-proclaimed "heavy psych" band has made its name via 4 Full-lengths, 4EPs, and tours with Clutch, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, All Them Witches, The Sword, and Elder.

King Buffalo will issue their fifth full-length, Regenerator, on Sept. 2, 2022, as a self-release in North America and through Stickman Records in Europe. Preorders will be available on June 10th via http://kingbuffalo.bigcartel.com.

Written and recorded by the band with mixing and engineering by Sean McVay and mastering by Bernie Matthews, the seven-song outing is the third in King Buffalo’s stated ‘pandemic trilogy,’ following Two of 2021’s Best Albums in The Burden of Restlessness and Acheron.

Both of those albums – like 2018’s Longing to Be the Mountain, 2016’s debut, Orion, and the various EPs and other offerings they’ve made over the last eight years – made bold declarations about who King Buffalo are as a band, and Regenerator is no different. As McVay, Reynolds and Donaldson continue to explore the outer reaches of modern psychedelic songcraft, melding progressive rhythms, drifting atmospheres and accompanying surges of electricity, the new collection only further establishes them as one of the brightest lights shining in underground rock today.

As the third of three, Regenerator seems inherently to tie together the two LPs most immediately before it, and as King Buffalo unfold the leadoff title-track across nine and half minutes, it becomes clear just how truly they have marked out their own sonic presence. The later melodic highlight “Mammoth” – with McVay’s most confident vocal yet – shimmers with hope that somehow doesn’t come across as desperate, and as “Hours” engages classic space rock and the closing “Firmament” summarizes the first, second and third series installments, the final chapter of this trilogy becomes the essential cornerstone of King Buffalo’s work to-date.

The band returned to live activity late last year, touring alongside Clutch and more recently a full North American spring tour with Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats. By the time Regenerator arrives, they will have completed a UK and European headlining tour with festival appearances in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium and Denmark.

About Howling Giant

Made up of guitarist/vocalist Tom Polzine, drummer/vocalist Zach Wheeler, and bassist/vocalist Sebastian Baltes (son of ACCEPT bassist Peter Baltes), HOWLING GIANT blast forth a cosmic convergence of pulpy sci-fi themes and blistering psych-metal.

Across numerous tours and festival appearances, three EPs and their first full album, the trio harness driving energy, massive tones and otherworldly storytelling to broadcast the enduring message that the universe we live in could stand to loosen up. They deliver this message from stages far and wide as often as possible.

Highlighting towering riffage, tremendous musicianship and golden-throated vocal harmonies, new album The Space Between Worlds is a warp trail of heavy rock so weird it can only be called progressive. Deploying every sonic weapon in HOWLING GIANT’s arsenal, the album also features friend of the band Drew Harakal adding organ and synth textures, and a guest cameo from ASG singer Jason Shi on the track “Ice Castle.”

The Space Between Worlds arrived September 27, 2019 via Blues Funeral Recordings, capping off a year that included a sold-out reissue of their debut EP, coveted slots at Psycho Smokeout and Psycho Las Vegas, and placement in a Vans commercial for pro skater Geoff Rowley.

During the pandemic, the band shifted to streaming 4 times a week on Twitch, engaging their fan community through virtual shows, fan requested jam sessions, and Dungeons & Dragons sessions with other musicians from the underground stoner scene. The band handpicked their favorite improvised jams from the Twitch sessions and released Alteration in April 2021. Howling Giant also collaborated with Ben McLeod (All Them Witches) for a Black Sabbath tribute album, as well as Udo Dirkschneider and Peter Baltes (Ex-ACCEPT) for an AC/DC tribute album during this period.

As venues began to open back up, the band hit the road once again through Fall and Winter 2021, with a special appearance at Psycho Las Vegas 2021. While at Psycho Las Vegas, the band participated in a Motörhead tribute album, collaborating with Phil Anselmo (Down, Ex-Pantera), Gary Holt (Exodus, Ex-Slayer), Sacha Dunable (Intronaut), Mothership, Nick Oliveri (Stoner, Ex-Queens fo the Stone Age, Kyuss), Dwid Hellion (Integrity), and Chuck Garric (Alice Cooper, Beasto Blanco).

The band is currently booking for 2022 and working on their next full length record, due out late 2022/early 2023 through Magnetic Eye Records.
